Beautiful Empire Pendule Artemis from fire-gilt Paris around 1815
The case is carried by 4 feet, the front are decorated with palmettes, the square base with an allegorical depiction of Atermis and Endymion? is built on top of it, the clockwork with Artemis on it, next to it a bow, quiver and a hunting dog. The bronze case is in a good age appropriate good condition the fire gilding (original, not re-gold-plated!!!!) is well preserved (various smaller oxidation spots) The housing was completely dismantled, all individual parts were carefully cleaned and then reassembled. The movement with thread suspension and hook locking mechanism has been completely overhauled and readjusted by the master watchmaker (all parts derusted, pins polished, worn bearings replaced, anchor regrinded and polished, escapement readjusted, springs checked for cracks if necessary replaced, expertly oiled with special lubricants), it runs for about 14 days and strikes the half and full hours on a bell. The finely guilloché dial is also fire-gold-plated, the numerals are painted (slightly rubbed), the lower edge is rubbed on the side.
