A very fine pair of Empire candlesticks in fire-gilt bronze, France, c. 1820 A round base with a band of laurel leaf decoration, from which rises a bulbous, fluted column in the centre, topped by a simple finial. The fire-gilding shows various signs of wear and deformation on both finials Height: 16.5 cm
