Pair of French Empire-style sconces in fire-gilded bronze, Paris, c. 1815 The conical shaft, also decorated with acanthus leaves, rests on a round base featuring acanthus leaves; the upper section is formed by the spout with a drip tray. Apart from the polished areas (which are partially scratched and worn, see photographs), the fire-gilding is still well preserved. One lamp is slightly askew. Height: 27.5 cm
