Description
Large second-hand pendulum clock, Regulator PPU Lenzkirch, circa 1865, central second hand Slim, tall case, glazed on three sides, made of walnut or walnut-veneered; in good condition for its age; various minor repairs to the veneer (small imperfections), no woodworm damage; the latch for opening the front door has been removed and replaced with two hooks (as is often the case); stamped ‘A.g.u.l. Lenzkirch’ on the reverse. Movement with anchor escapement (adjustable pallets), counter-lock and central seconds hand, one-week power reserve; the movement has been professionally overhauled (i.e. all parts derusted, pivots polished, worn bearings replaced, escapement geometry readjusted (by grinding), all screws, pawls and springs blue-tempered, various defective parts replaced, all parts polished, assembled and adjusted, the spring steel of the original pendulum spring replaced). Despite its considerable age, the clock still runs very accurately, at less than 1 second per day (at a constant temperature). The pendulum lens, weight, movement stand and deflection pulley have been freshly painted with a special brass lacquer. Dimensions: Height: 170 cm Width: 39 cm Depth: 19 cm Sale to buyers collecting in person in 98701 Herschdorf or collection by a haulage contractor; the clock can also be packed on request (subject to an appropriate fee).
