Description
Large pendulum clock with self-winding mechanism, circa 1840 The plinth, supported by four spherical feet, features two swans drinking from a fountain; above them, centred, is the large dial; the clock is crowned by a pensive-looking Chronos resting on the globe. The gilding is worn in places (see photographs); there are some deformations; the hole on the side is non-functional; the mechanism is wound from the rear. Round pendulum movement with a thread pendulum, as well as half-hour and hour chimes on a bell; the movement is in good working order. The water mechanism can be wound from the back and starts running immediately (it occasionally hesitates), whilst the glass spiral rotates (creating the effect of flowing water). The dial shows signs of oxidation. The pendulum, 2 keys and bell are included in the offer. Dimensions: Height: 54 cm Width: 21 cm Depth: 16 cm
