Description
The 226 cm high case is entirely veneered in mahogany; the top and around the doors feature fine band inlays, the panes of both doors are facetted, and the top is shaped like a split gable. The condition is very good, apart from slight damage to the plinth. The very solid movement, featuring an anchor escapement (and seconds pendulum), runs for around 8 days and strikes every quarter of an hour (very full-bodied chime); the hour strike is sounded on the largest tubular bell (very slow, extremely full-bodied chime). The movement has been fully overhauled. (Weight for the mainspring has been added) The very beautiful hand-engraved dial, featuring silver-plated numeral rings and a sub-dial for the striking mechanism (complete), is in good condition; at the ‘six’ mark, the melody can be switched to ‘9’ to deactivate the hour strike. Height: 225 cm Width: 47 cm Depth: 33.5 cm The pendulum, key and all bells are included in the offer. Delivery throughout Germany is available on request.
