Description

The solid English movement strikes a very deep-sounding gong (which is rusty) on the half-hours and full hours; it runs for 8 days and is also very accurate. The beautiful, exquisitely engraved dial is rubbed silver and in good condition for its age (it has been cleaned); as well as the hours and minutes, the seconds can also be read, and it is signed ‘Mapple & Co London’ above the 6. The hands are made of steel and lacquered black. The slender, tall case is made of dark-stained oak and decorated with various reliefs, etc.; it is in good condition for its age (there is a long scratch on the left-hand side, but it is not conspicuous) and shows no signs of woodworm damage. Both doors can be locked, although the key for the upper door is missing; however, it can still be opened. A matching crank handle, a pendulum and two weights (all replaced) are included in the offer. Dimensions: Height: 188 cm Width: 40 cm Depth: 27 cm
