Description
A beautiful, heavy cartel clock in gilded bronze, marked ‘Au Negre Paris’, circa 1890 The case, in the Louis XV style, is cast in bronze and is predominantly decorated with floral motifs and rocaille. It is in good condition for its age. The Paris movement runs for around two weeks and chimes on a bell at half and full hours; it is marked ‘S. Marti’. The enamelled dial, with its blue Arabic numerals, is undamaged and is marked ‘Au Negre Paris’. A matching key and the original pendulum are included in the offer. Height: 49 cm
