Description
The group of figures is set upon a tall plinth adorned with numerous floral motifs. The case was completely dismantled, all individual parts carefully cleaned and then reassembled. The movement, featuring a thread suspension and hook escapement, was fully overhauled and readjusted by a master watchmaker (all parts derusted, pivots polished, worn bearings replaced, the anchor reground and polished, the escapement readjusted, mainsprings checked for cracks and replaced where necessary, expertly oiled with special lubricants), it has been running for around 14 days and strikes the half and full hours on a bell; it is marked ‘Gay A Paris’. The dial is silver-plated, and the numerals are painted (worn). Dimensions: Height: 46 cm Width: 35 cm Depth: 13 cm The pendulum, key and a bell are included in the offer.
