Description
Seated on the curved plinth with floral decoration is the young Ceres, holding a cornucopia to her right, with a beehive beside her. The gilding is well preserved apart from a little wear; two small appliqués are missing on the right and left. The case has been completely dismantled, all individual parts carefully cleaned and subsequently reassembled. The movement, featuring a thread suspension and hook escapement, has been completely overhauled and readjusted (all parts derusted, pivots polished, worn bearings replaced, the anchor reground and polished, the escapement readjusted, springs checked for cracks and replaced where necessary, expertly oiled with special lubricants), it has been running for around 14 days and strikes the half and full hours on a bell; it is marked: Medailles D’Or Japy Frères Années 1825, 27, 34, 37, 44, 49 The enamelled dial with Roman numerals is undamaged. The pendulum, key and a bell are included in the offer.
